30 May 17 Reply Thanks for your thoughts. I did shoot this in RAW and will give the shadows some attention. May 21st
30 May 17 Reply The distant shore is a bend in the River and difficult to reconcile with the clouds. May 21st
30 May 17 Comment Nice pano shot, Leonid. I agree that the straightening was needed for this image. Robert's suggested changes are interesting, but renders the water too contrasty and unreal to my eye. I like the mystery that the fog conveys: are they open for business? where are the people? 30 May 17 Comment I liked your original submission best. It has good depth and is nicely focused both mechanically and conceptually. I find the foreground grasses a big plus for this photograph. The branches coming into the frame from the right hand side could be cropped making the subject less centered, a concern voiced by Judy and Dorinda. The second alternative picture is less appealing to me. It has lost the nice grass textures I liked in the first one and seems to be framing the collection of smaller trees that aren't that interesting. Jessica made an interesting point that the mimetic role the clouds might play. Particularly if aided by Photoshop! May 21st
30 May 17 Comment I agree with Jessica and Dorinda. Perhaps cropping enough off of the RH side to make it symmetric, featuring the lights and the diagonal roof lines leading to them. May 21st
30 May 17 Comment I agree with Dorinda -- for me there is too much in this image to sort out. The framing is nice and the color of the foliage contrasts well, but there seems to be too much in the subject. Perhaps shooting closer and from more of an angle to the bridge and picking up a reflection of it in the pond? May 21st
30 May 17 Comment I like the composition, Dale, and generally agree with the above comments. I believe the image would be improved with focus stacking to bring more of the blossom into focus, resolving Jessica's conundrum.

I also join the others in thanking Robert for the dof site

30 May 17 Comment Very nice shot, Dorinda. Increasing the saturation brings out the nice colors on the stream bottom and in the rocks and vegetation on the far side. For me, these colors are a major strength of the image. May 20th
