Nice photo of a great subject! I join the others re the edge. The Magic Wand tool in Photoshop does a nice job on this kind of edge as it allows selection based on color, which would seem to work here. |

Gorgeous shot; several shots in one, perhaps: the river, the falls, and the village. You have done a great job on this one! Improvements? Several other's comments suggest to me that they may feel that the image reaches too far and that would benefit from simplifying. I share that feeling, but have no good suggestions as to what. I do think that cloning out the stairs and platforms on the left would improve the picture. |

Very nice! The sharp contrast between the inside and outside scenes is the high point for me. The great color outside seems to have been unsuccessful in drawing the student's attention from his studies. Too bad, as showing a link between the two scenes would have been a nice touch. I didn't notice the building. |

I iike the composition with the sky drawing my full attention to the silhouetted figures. My first impression was that the sky was too empty and needed some clouds to break up the space, but I now feel the empty sky is more dramatic and impressive as is. I would remove the bush for this reason. (Are we standing on the tongue of a monster looking through its mouth at a meal?)

I really like the composition here. B&W is the right way to go, in my view. However, like the others, I feel the bikes get lost in a lot of detail, also in the distraction, for me, of the dark doorway on the right. I would try cropping that doorway out. The dark windows will give ample tonal range. You may find improvement in reducing the overall exposure. Overall, I think some minor changes will make an excellent photograph. |

A warm welcome to our group, Dale. I suspect that you will learn as much from our colleagues as I have. I like your composition, Dale. For me, it's most attractive features are the falls and the depth of field you have presented with the stream detail in the foreground. The focus of the foliage surround the falls is not as sharp as it might have been. I am somewhat bothered by the reflection in the water in which the falls are brightly lighted and the foliage surrounding the falls is not reflected although bright. It just doesn't look reallistic, to me. I would try toning down the water reflection and cloning in a faint foliage reflection there. |
