This photo presents many possibilities. Another good use of B&W. I agree with the potential to focus in on some of the finer areas (is that a branch sticking through?) and to play with perspectives and cropping. I like to go all in with pattern shots as they can have their visual uses and can be utilized as a building block for adding an interest in one form or another. Great thought provoking photo. |

Feel like this should be in sepia which would have fixed the issue of 'softness' with this photo. Would love to see some of the images this old camera has produced in its lifetime. Perfect subject for the month. |

I like the original B&W as well but I may be biased this month. I would have cropped the original just a bit, not as much as yours just to remove the white area on the right. I wish the top of the fence wasn't cut off and would have liked to see what it would have looked like taking one step to the right before snapping. Really like the shadows along the ground as well. |

Agree with the above issues with the green... distracting. But i do like the photo itself. I would have focused in more on the interesting shapes you see within the shavings themselves. Almost like seeing shapes in clouds, stimulates the imagination. Like all the colors within the bark. |
