I love the colors and I don't mind the drop off in sharpness because it keeps me focused on the subject....the little creepy crawler and the color of the leaf and the contrast with the little bug itself. |

"A" for texture. I think the halos may come from overly sharpening. Just a guess. On occasion, I've gotten them in some image and had to back off a bit to get it back to normal. The history brush is a great tool for somethings that go too far as we change them.
And, a note for Carole. I recently changed my entire front garden to drought tolerant. It cost a small fortune to get rid of the "grass". It was worth it because now I have a dry creek bed and drought tolerant plants and no mowing. And, texture. |

I am also in agreement. The sky takes over the image because it is so much brighter and colorful. This is a case where a grayer day might have worked well for you.....But, of course, you wouldn't have gotten the wonderful reflective light. So, the less sky the better. Sometimes I try really hard to avoid any sky in my image. That might have worked but seems hard to have managed that. |

I had to search for the sign and the road because I was so busy looking at the mural itself. It is an interesting image and it has a lot color which gives the image the texture. I love coming across things like this when I travel, Always unique and a good surprise to the eye.

I see a face......and it is very formidable. On the mostly right side of the image the eye and the flattened nose and the mouth.

Salvation mtn is in Niland which is right near the Salton Sea. A very neglected area and relatively without funds....He painted many acrea and did it all by hand. The paint was donated from caring travellers.....who shared his interest. He was an interesting and remarkable person. Yes....dedicated to his beliefs. I thought the paint and variety provided texture. |

Not a problem Dick.....I'm not even sure I like it now that I have it posted. I do have it entered in a show, but, I think the print does it far more justice. It was never intended to be taken too seriously because, after all, I don't do nudes. So, relax and make your comments as you feel......and, I will do likewise. That is what makes a difference. |

John, I submitted my current photo to you and it is not on the site. Am I doing something wrong? Need a little help.

A little bit. Congratulations. Looking forward to what you present next month. And, a note about a series of images. I love the fact that you have a portfolio of shots. We may differ on subject matter at times, but, having a portfolio is always a winner. I have a lot of images which I enjoy but I'm still trying to tackle the "portfolio" approach.

I love the image and the fact that you caught the fence in the foreground. Keeps it anchored and in the frame. I think the mist adds to the image and makes it a little special. |

First off, I like the image and it reminds me of a Lake Louise in Canada. I also noticed the sharpened areas and when I read your comment, I realized what you had done. If you are still in the area, I'd love to see a tripod shot of this place. It is lovely. |

This one is a winner. I like the background and the shadow area behind the subject and the image works well. Good color in this industrial scene. |

Flamingoes are beautiful and really difficult to capture in unique photographs. This is different and for that reason, I like it. You saw and got it. Truth is, I totally missed the feather and had to go back and really look at the image to find it. Nice touch. |

This is a striking image and the best one of the group, in my opinion. You did a great job with it. I liked it from the moment I viewed it. I've been to area many times and I am sure I know exactly where you photographed it, or, near enough. The tree "makes" the image. It is sharp and a perfect silhouette. The lighting on the background works very well to make the eye look deep and see what is there.
Good job. |
