Coffe cup - yes. Empty - no, still a work in process. I love my morning coffee. Shot the napping computer early in the AM. Never seems to get to nap much during the day. |

Well, he might be sleeping and then again, he may be kidding us. Just taking a moment in between whatever else tottoises do when they are sitting still. It's a great tortoise shot and I'm impressed. Where was it shot? |

Yes your rabbit appears to be sleeping. How funny that it was made that way. Or, maybe, you caught it at the right moment. It works. |

My dog never stays still when I try to photograph him. He comes in toward me instead. The only thing I wish were different in this image is that it would be great if his eyes were closed. And, you already know that. Darn those doggies.....they will only do what they want and not what we want.
As for you question about the contrast situation. Why not try camera raw and open the shadows. That should help. I tried it and it seems to help a bit. |

Well, it is a nicely positioned image and you are already aware of the lighting problem. However, to me, the real issue is with the light which is behind the subject. The purple and white glare on the left is very distracting. The orange on the right is not as distracting but perhaps it could have been muted a bit. Still you made the best of a difficult shoot.

Well, he is asleep and that is confirmed by the closed eyes. You got it. Sleep was a challenge since, if I'm asleep, I don't photograph and others are awake around me when I'm not. The dog doesn't sit still and if I move, he moves....etc. You nailed it.

I think this is an excellent example of "sleep". I found the subject a challenge and you nailed it. The image is nice with the angle of the dried grass adding to the impact. Good job. |

A very nice scene, but, it brought with it some issues. It is a very contrast laden image and that means that the darks are too dark and the brights are overwhelming. Also, in my opinion, the color blue is more cyan than I believe it might have been. Still, you saw the scene and you photographed it and that is what makes photography so much fun. Seeing and capturing. Sometimes, it works better than other times, but, high marks to you for doing it. |

Thanks Dick. One thing I'm sure of.....I have very limited experience photographing people. So, I never even noticed the "eye". Nice to know that I'm on a bit of a learning curve. I have several mannequin portraits and I'm going to begin to look them over and see what else I've missed. I'm hoping someday I have a breakthrough and begin to add people to my images. |

I like this image and I think it works very well as a representation of a quiet village with the train approaching. Reminds me of some of the places I visited in England in the country.
The way you captured the image also is well done......filling the frame with the train curving into the station, and, the conductor waiting for it to stop. The scene behind and to the side adds to the moment. |

This is an excellent shot of the bird with its catch. My only critique is that I feel it may be a little overly sharpened. I don't even think, if you did sharpen it, that it was necessary. The eye is totally in focus and the entire bird is well exposed. So, if I'm wrong, it's only because of the way it appears on my computer....and, we know that is always an issue.
I actually think you did a great job in photographing the bird. |
