Hi Jim. My comments will be redundant to those of Dick and Lance. I look at the beautiful leaf that's in focus, move to the leaf being worked, but it's not being in focus disappoints. Glad you'll be doing more. |

Hi Tunay and welcome! This is a well done image. I am not a bird photographer even though I live in Florida, but I have tried. Bird photography is a special talent and you show your talent well here. The eye is tack sharp and even though the image is a bit too bright, the details in the feather are still visible. Nice job! |

Charissa, this is a much more relaxed look than last month and I really like the change in background. My only suggestion would be to point the pinecones on the right more inward as they seem to bring me out of the image. Maybe they are, as Jim mentions, taking a break from the photo shoot. |

Well, this certainly is a different image. I have a real aversion to looking at insects up close so I applaud you in getting close. The hairs are interesting and the texture on the body looks like fur. Not a housemate I would want for very long even it it was outside.. |

This is an absolutely beautiful image. It reminds me of an old botanical print, yet it's fresh with a contemporary flair. I've created a lot of images on my Lightbox, but I was never able to achieve this level of success. You've inspired me to try again. Beautiful! |

Interesting points to ponder. I find myself questioning why there isn't a broader consideration of "classic era" photography", then, I find I too get caught in a narrow scope of thought. |

Hi Carol. I agree the flower should be brighter. This looks good. |

Nice image and I like the composition. I find the lower, darker set of leaves to be somewhat distracting so I would consider blurring them or darkening them a bit. |

Beautifully done. Your work with the background is perfect in showcasing the flower. The individual blossoms are tack sharp and I notice they have the same characteristics as any other orchid. I like how the stem is slightly off center, but the flower head leans slightly forward and centers itself. Wonderful capture. |

I like this image. Talk about dynamic! I think it can be a challenge using ICM to obtain a pleasant image that makes sense. Here, in my opinion, you have succeeded. This looks a star with succulents bursting out from the center. Of course I have the same question as Bev and Fred - where is the hummingbird? |

The black and white version of this image provides a nice depiction of the Stigma. My personal taste would be to add a little blur to the background on the top left as I find it a little busy. As for the the flower itself, I find the delicate paper-like quality of the petals to be beautifully done. The texture of the petals along with dodging specific areas really helped to create a great image. Nice job. |

I just love it. Beautiful composition, yellow & green colors, focus...I wouldn't change a thing. Printed on metal this image would absolutely glow. |

The egg slicer was a common staple in my house when I was little. Our slicer was bight yellow plastic with narrow metal slicers. I agree with the above comments that using part of the slicer is more impactful and leaves more to the imagination. With macro I'm always challenged to decide what is enough vs. too much content. My thought is to take a small section of the slicer and maybe rotate it. The scratches add character and it looks like it had a very functional life. |

I've played with this a little. NIK preset "Push Process", some noise reduction. darkening what I could see in the background, then some selective burning inside the rolls where the larger segments of cardboard were visible. |

I always enjoy the descriptions and history you provide with your images. The positioning of the Greeter is perfect and he looks like a very willing participant. The composition is interesting and allows for a sense of place. I wouldn't change a thing. |

Hi Karl. There's been a lot of folks in my local camera club making efforts to create ICM images. Since I live in a beach town, the images are primarily ocean shots which (although lovely), have no focused point of interest. This image has that focused point of interest that I find it fascinating. As previously commented, there is a sense of motion that pulls you into the image. The composition and color palette is spot on as well. Great job. |

The settings used were ISO of 125, f/11 and shutter speed of 250. Hand held with a 50mm prime lens. As for the 2 originals, I now see I sent the same image twice. |

I like the image. It's the surreal flower containing a shadow which encourages my interest and spurs my imagination. The surreal is becoming reality while reality transforms into that which looks unnatural. I think it's great. |

Hi Judith. This is an interesting image that does well in monochrome. It looks as if they couple are walking into another dimension. Interesting technique for motion photography.

Hi Peter. You've created an interesting image of the Pacers. My experience with horse racing has only been with trotters or thoroughbreds. The image is colorful and pleasant although I find it a bit tight on the left side. I can't tell that all the legs are off the ground due to the post processing, but I do see it in your original. Karl has some good ideas for a solution to your concern of bright areas.

Hi Freddie. Your image does have an abstract, eerie component. It looks as though the red line is a soil line and we're getting a special view of the roots of the branches down in the red earth. The image may be a little sci fi / abstract, but it's creative and I personally like it. |

This is a well done image. The textures are nicely represented and provide a lot of interesting elements. I like how the large pipes descend with their "s" designs. The composition is pleasant and in my opinion the platforms add to the image. Karl's modifications are good and showcase the image's possibilities. Very nice. |
