Your cat is a serious model. I agree with the comments above regarding getting rid of the base, and moving your furry model away from the background a bit more and moving your light source to the left. This would provide the separation between subject and shadow.
You've handled the details of his (her?) fur and whiskers well, down to capturing the tiny suggestion of white on the back paw. |

I like the monochrome version as I find the color version has too many distractions. The colors and the horizon line don't work for me as well as the monochrome. Making the swirls continuously smaller and on an angle is great, and flooding the bottom tops off the effect.
I would love to know your technique. |

The Lady Slippers you captured are lovely, and the entire row being in bloom is a really great find. The twisted petals are called flags.
These particular orchids don't survive when transplanted into captivity, but some domesticated Lady Slippers grown by orchid enthusiasts can have flags up to 5 feet long. The higher you place the plant, the longer the flags grow, but once they sense their flags may touch a surface, they stop.
I might crop a bit off the bottom and darken the image just a bit, but that's minor. Overall a great image with nice detail.

This image has me wondering if I'm in space and traveling toward the sun through an asteroid field. I do like the variations in the bubbles/rocks and thank you for relieving me of dirty window guilt! |

This image is so creative. Your "crazed tweaking" wound up to be successful. As mentioned, toning down the bright branches and bringing up the darker ones are good thoughts; I might clone out the 4 large fat flakes in the front as well. But these suggestions don't take away from the fact this is a really nice image. The way you handled the gazebo, the foggy appearance coming from behind the branches, the depth and and composition is well done. |

Thank you Judith I'm trying to find my balance between classical fine art flower photography versus a more traditional botanical feel.

This image is different than my usual renditions. I added a bit of more color than usual, and of course added the texture. Are you thinking the opacity could have been lowered a small amount or the upper right a tiny bit less brown? |
