Wow does this water look cold. The ocean temps here are in the 80s so even looking at this makes me cold. Mount Rainier is pretty, so I too think it should get more attention. Although there's a lot to look at here, my eye keeps going back to the wader. If this were my image, I would crop out more of the right and left to focus more on the mountain. |

Nice image Tom. Removing the handrail was a necessity. I can't help but wonder where the staircase led as the top of the stairs just ends where the incline of the land begins. Even though I find the window and stones of the jail interesting, the stairs remain the obvious subject. Composition is good as is your clarity and detail. You've managed the lighting nicely which can be tough with stone. Good shot. |

This is a beautiful image. There's a softness, yet the details of his eyelashes down to his muzzle are sharp and clear. Your adjustments are really well done making the horse look timeless. He could be from the Middle Ages, or today. Really nicely done. |

Even though the owl posed, this is a nice capture. The head is positioned well, although it would have been nice to see the other eye. The background works well here. Did you do any adjustments
once you were in Nik? I use Nik and have recently been making fine tune adjustments in Nik so I wondered if you do the same. Nice capture.

The way the leaves (?) fan out from the seed head is a really nice composition. Maybe a little more contrast on some of the leaf veins would make them stand out more as some appear bit grey. My preference though is the color version. The soft colors in the background, combine with the color of the leaves and seed head are really nice. |

I think this rendition helps in separating the head from the background, and provides more definition. Liking high contract color is absolutely subjective, and Charlie is right that the head could probably be more vibrant. But my eye went to the tail and the feathers, with the head as secondary. I like it. |

I thought this might have been the masking technique here. Your images definitely have the wow factor and the details do play a big role, although great composition and lighting might also be helping a bit :D . The wine doesn't hurt either...
Thanks for sharing. |

The image is really nice. Would you share how you maintained the quality of the texture while keeping the little hairs on the stem? Really nicely applied. The texture is appropriate for the berries although maybe a hair (bad pun intended) too heavy. This is yet another good image. |

Thanks Peter. This one looked a little different to me. Not sure what you mean about the crop… |

Personally I like the painterly / animated quality of your image. I agree the image could use more depth as it does seem a bit flat. Maybe if you were to add some contrast on the outer outline of his neck and head it would help increase separation from the feathers. His tail is nice and you can see depth where his tail meets the rest of him and begins to move up and back. I chuckled when you said it was another boring catalog picture of a peacock because they have never cooperated with me, and getting a catalog pic would be a first for me! |
