This is a great image. Regarding the discussion about eye contact, I agree with Stephan that the image tells a story of a world we don't enter. Years ago at my former camera club, we had a speaker who spoke on the evolutionary levels a photographer will go through from novice to expert. The last level was the photographer who can see the result before the image was taken; a level where most will never experience. Your forethought with the successful outcome reminds me of that lecture. Good job. |

This is a really nice portrait. The eye contact is good and her eyes have an interesting engaged look. Seeing more of her hand would be better. You might want to consider blurring ever so slightly at the top of her head where her scarf meets the background - maybe 1 to 2 pixels. I find it looks a little too sharp and reminds me of a cut out. That said, the texture and personality you've captured is commendable. Nice job! |

Nice image and the correction to the belt is really well done. My comments are the same as the rest of the group - a little less yellow and maybe blurring the background a bit. |

We had gone to Bodie several years back and I do remember this landmark. Fascinating place. I find the wires to be distracting and would take them out. As far as using the skew function, it's so helpful to correct distortions but also so easy to get lost in the corrections. So many times I've overcorrected, and then the image starts to look strange. Trying to fix it, it gets worse. So my advice is to do as Stephan did - slight changes and leave a bit of tilt. As for forgetting things not done regularly, I'm so glad I'm not alone! |

Being late to the party, everything I would have suggested has been said and done. I like the ropes as well and arranging the loops at the bottom provides the almost unending pattern. While the Chesapeake looks cold, the ropes look used, but warm and dry, which gives a nice balance to the overall feel of the image. |

I too really like the abstract you've created and your choice of where the image arises form the frame works very well. A sequence of images would be very impressive and probably would work well. Really nice abstract - congratulations! |

The back right is a bit dark, but I've probably lost any detail when the shot was taken. There was a canopy of leaves that left it quite dark. I agree there isn't enough delineation between his head and body - his head was covered in drying mud. Maybe lightening up the edges of his head would help. |
