It was interesting particularly because it was my first time. You're right in that people love showing off their tattoos - next year when I go, that will be one of my agenda items |

You're right about the upper left corner. It's always interesting to me how I could miss something so obviously distracting until it's pointed out. And the of course I say to myself how could I have not seen that...! |

Because I'm so late in commenting, I don't have too much to add. I too find I like the color image better as it elicits a mood that I don't get with the mono. What I find interesting is all the different structures in the background. Of all the lighthouses I've seen I've never encountered one that has so many different structures so close to it. You were brave to fight the elements and take the image. The water is very angry and looks so cold. |

I think this image is great. The fact that they're looking over to the right at their owner is different and allows one to see the difference in the personalities of each dog. As for the hair...with these types of dogs, a simple bike ride could easily mess up a fresh brushing. Maybe that's why I have dobermans - they can stick their heads out the car window and look the same when they get home. Nice job. |

I like the monochrome version much better than the color because I too think it looks so much more realistic to the era. Nothing you can do about the sun light spot, but at some level it adds to the image in my opinion. Gives me a sense of time - daylight, bright sunny day, etc. The only thing I might change is to lower the brightness on the middle cowboy's shotgun, right under his hand. |

The leather wrist/arm guards are still used today for archery and bow and arrow hunting. |

Just as Beverly mentions, Egypt is a place I always wanted to visit but haven't gotten there (yet). I agree that your decision to flip the image is a good one, but I too think it needs a sky. Beverly did a nice job adding her "hint of sky" which for me removed the severity and what I found to be a distraction, and refocuses on the lions and the great detail you've captured. |

Diana's crop works for me here. The water lay has a lot of detail in the color image, but as previously mentioned it loses detail after conversion. The lily pads are great; their pattern and thee water they're holding adds much. I could spend the day photographing lilies in bloom. |

When I first thought of trying to photograph frozen flowers, I thought the hardest part would be choosing and arranging the flowers. But that's the fun part! Getting rid of the stubborn bubbles is the challenge.. |

I've never been to the butterfly house although I hear it's interesting to see. I'm not a star at photographing insects of any kind, maybe because they look so alien. Butterfly's are an exception.
The heavy crop is most likely the cause of the heavily pixelation. I've heard fantastic things about Topaz AI so that might compensate the pixilation. Great color on the wings, and very good composition. |

Thank you for the feedback. I've a more subtle bouquet for April and I'm interested in your thoughts regarding how the two images compare.. |

Water drop photography can really pull you in. I can spend hours without a thought to time. Every variable changes the drops in viscosity, speed, etc. Congratulations on getting the third drop - that's a tough one for me. Interesting you used coffee mate and detergent. I've used xanthum gum and milk primarily to thicken the consistency, but it's always an adventure as the what the result will be.
Perhaps a more muted background would give more focus to the drop itself as they seem to be competing here. I commend you on the depth of field you've achieved. That's always a challenge with drops.

Your image had me guessing as to what it was just like the rest of the group. The color under the snap really sets this off and was a good choice as it added dimension. The white highlight on the ball doesn't bother me. Nice job. |

This is such a creative image - I applaud you for your success here. Years ago I attended a presentation where the speaker reviewed the steps to becoming an expert in photography. Step one was of course seeing something and taking a snapshot. The steps continued until the final step of seeing your vision prior to taking the image, then successfully creating your vision. "Blue Glow" reminded me of that last step. It doesn't matter that a tweak here and there was needed.
Great job with the colors, composition and dimension. |
