32 Jun 19 Comment This image is great. From the capturing the eyes to the capture of the mood, it's so well done. I like the b&w, but I really like the old yellowed tone as it reminds me of the photographs of the 1950s. The color image is very nice, but your crop and then pulling this into a sepia tone is very successful. The only thing I might do is to crop out or darken the bright button on the bottom. Jun 16th
32 Jun 19 Comment I too like the lighter image. As Tom, I work the image in color first, then convert. Instead of a mask you could try a graduated filter in PS as sometimes this will help without the detail work needed with a mask. Jun 16th
32 Jun 19 Comment A happy image! As the other comments mention, the sun on the child's face is key. The only suggestion I have is maybe bump up the contrast a bit. Jun 16th
32 Jun 19 Comment Very nice image of the arch. nI've never been to the Greek Isles although I would love to go. And being a true potato connoisseur, Naxos seems to be a go-to destination for me.

I find that my eye pulls down to the strong base in the image. Perhaps as Tom mentions it might help to crop a bit on the right. I always shoot in raw as the details are redly available. I find that JPEG is very limiting on its own.

32 Jun 19 Comment Like the rest of the group I don't use high key as I've not taken an image where I found it worked well. I did notice the tail issue, but it seems minimal because of your placement of the bird and his eye as Stephen has mentioned. I use photoshop cc Silver Effects Pro - maybe a filter before the high key? Jun 16th
32 Jun 19 Reply yes I used NIK. I have Topaz now, but I'm not as familiar with it so I poke around, but haven't committed to using it without NIK as my back up. Jun 16th

65 Jun 19 Comment Great image Angela - the bee drunk with pollen and the pollen sac on his leg only adds to the image. A white peony as the background is perfect. Keep the wings blurry as it does imply motion. Very nicely done. Jun 16th
65 Jun 19 Comment Taking the entire family was a great idea as was only the bottom of the screws. Adding the grommets was a good idea as well. The difference of colors and types of screws makes the image even more interesting. Very nicely done! Jun 16th
65 Jun 19 Reply This was taken on a light table with only the bottom lit and the light bulb laying on its side. Because it's a clear bulb, it was just too bright to capture a good image when I had it screwed into the fixture. Jun 16th
65 Jun 19 Reply Yes the halo effect is coming from a filter that didn't look quite as obvious to me until it was posted here. I almost left the top portion in, but it didn't add to the image and looked messy to me. Jun 16th
