I find it a bit tame as well although I really like the detail in the horses. |

Architecture for me always poses a challenge, so I wind up taking only a small component of any structure. Maybe the texture of the building material, the design on the top of the pillar, perhaps straight up the side of the pillar...

I'm finding the print being held by the judge to be a bit less than sharp (even with my glasses). The color version has a softness to it that I find more pleasing than the mono version. Of course that's with the head of the spectator removed.

She's a little girl so the hunch might just be shyness. Her hair, hat and smile are nicely done although I agree that brightening her eyes would help them really stand out. The contrast is great particularly in the shirt and the background suits the image. I prefer a tighter crop so I would have taken a bit more off the top of the image. A well done image. |

This image evokes a nice representation of a man "tinkering" so he can fix a problem. I agree that the building could be darkened a bit; the hat would then be more defined.
Jim reminds me of my father and how he could fix just about everything. Took him forever I must admit, but it would be fixed permanently. This image is very dynamic to me as I can practically see Jim blowing off any residual dust. |

Thanks - I never even thought about rotating the image. |

Your final image is indeed more interesting. I've collected wheat pennies since I was small (and that's been quite a while) so I really like the penny. 150 slices? that's dedication. The lint plays well too.
I do have a couple of comments though which one may consider nitpicking. I'm not a fan of the grey, but your signature in copper really works well. I might be more random and not do every other penny shiny/dark and even turn a couple over here and there. The position/composition of the main penny is really well done, and it's weighted so well.

Happy Birthday! and what a nice gift from you to you! I must admit I have camera body envy now. I really hope most of your lenses fit, although the thrill of getting a new lens to fit the full body will fun too.
I like the reflection of the coin and certainly the black background. I might perhaps roll the coin a bit to the left to make it a bit straighter, as it seems to be rolling. A native NJ person, the city was only 40 min by express train so I really like your choice of NY. |

This is a great image due to the sharpness all around and the patina of the coin. I see that the copper salts you mentioned in my image are in yours as well. The green in the center region, by the word "one" and in small areas throughout the coin really add a nice richness to the image. Well done! |
