65 May 17 Reply Thanks Mary. I agree with your suggestion about including the rest of the lower edge of the heart. It would have made the heart look "finished". There were moving parts - there's an arm behind the big heart that moves quickly back and forth. Like a metronome. I've done a lot of focus stacking, but always with the purpose of simple focusing stationary objects front to back. I've never used it with the goal of focusing a stationary item with one in motion. I don't know why. I guess I just never thought of it. Now of course I have to try it! May 19th
65 May 17 Reply I did use a tripod because of the macro lens. Plus I've been having a hard time getting a sharp handheld image. I think I might be using the tripod a bit too much and I'm out of practice. May 19th
65 May 17 Comment Hi Charles
This image is interesting to me. The image is a bit harsh and the white in the center is a bit distracting. But I do keep coming back to the blue drop and try unsuccessfully to clearly see you and the room in the reflection. Really nice composition and it was a good choice making the drop blue. Thank you for the link - seems like a great piece for macro.

65 May 17 Comment Hi Jamos
I absolutely love this image. The sharpness is great between the eyes and the lips. You can see the hairy fuzz on his (her?) head and the odd bump on it's lip. The background is perfect to showcase the lizard's coloring. We've owned lizards and live with them here in Florida, but I've never been able to have them stand still long enough to photograph. How did you get it to stand still?

65 May 17 Comment Hi Mary
I like this image. The composition is really well done and the lines in the flower lead my eyes to the flower head. I do think the bright spot in the left lower corner should be either brought down in intensity or cloned out, and perhaps bring down the brightness in the lower right corner. That aside, this image evokes for me a mood of the promise of a new day. Very nice!
