65 Apr 17 Comment Instead of looking like a flower, this image looks like a ball of fire. It's rich in color and the orange gives it extra punch. You might want to consider toning down the few white hot spots on the right hand side. I think your method of taking several photos is correct. I do the same thing. You never know what the images really look like until you relax and see them on a bigger screen. Apr 28th
65 Apr 17 Comment Nice choice of subject matter and I love all the colors. I agree with Janos that the reflection is somewhat distracting to me. It seems to pull me away from the main image and down into the reflection. The stem in the upper left is distracting as well, even though it's blurred. That said, I find not only the composition to be really nicely done, but I absolutely love the rich and colorful texture. Apr 28th
65 Apr 17 Comment Very nice photo Mary. I agree with Janos that the text of "The Lord" adds another dimension to the image. Although I too still have my first communion bible, your idea of photographing it is not something I would have thought of. The binding at the bottom along with the reflection really anchor the image. Apr 28th
