Hi Priscilla: You are correct, I do think the smaller flowers
are violas, while the larger flowers are pansies. The two cousins planted together in the large container add variety and go well together. |

Hi Charlie: This picture comes across much better in more of a pano format, the 1024 X 768 we use in this study group does not do this picture justice at all from a composition standpoint. I have it sized 1800 X 1030 for entering at our club and this format fits the pansy grouping a lot better. This pano sizing is not the original aspect ratio. Cheers. |

Hi Phyllis: Like the shadows on the white background petal which adds an interesting dimension to your picture. The central green stalk is extremely sharp, the white petals in the background are sharp enough, but perhaps not at the same level as the green stalk. If you were to add a thin green border in the same color green tones as the green stalk that would add that final touch to this interesting image. |

Hi Barbara: Wonderful image in every way possible. Your choice of the black background was a great choice over the white you started out with. The subject is super sharp which adds a lot of impact against that black background. Your choice of border color adds that final touch. Just as a suggestion; try flipping this 180 degrees horizontally so the flower is on the right, the picture would be very strong from a composition standpoint. KUDOS |

Hi Charlie: To me this is a neat image and has a lot going for it. Creative images such as this do not just happen, you have put a great deal of thought into how you wanted to present this still life. Your color palette is wonderful, composition is well thought out, everything just fits very well and the radish adds a strong point of interest. The thin white border in the same basic color tones as the Brussel sprouts ties everything all together. KUDOS |

Hi Alane: Interesting image, those little insects covering the flower add a lot of interest. The flower is pretty sharp except for the bottom petal which is a bit soft which is minor to me. Your background is somewhat busy with a lot of detail back there; as a suggestion I would darken down the background somewhat which would subdue some of the detail, then also a darker background would place more emphasis on that interesting flower and tiny insects. You did very well photographing in the heat and humidity surrounded by throngs of people, that would be a difficult situation for me to photograph in. |

Hi Neal: Great image Neal, you must be around 3X or more magnification to show us the head of the fly. When the image comes up on the monitor the eyes immediately draw ones attention, and you managed good detail in those eyes. How many focus slices did you use to attain good sharpness through out the subject ?? |

Hi Shaji: Really good technical qualities in every way and a good nature image that is telling a nature story. The very nice out of focus soft green background supports the subject very well. Just a suggestion; there is a lot of extra room in the frame, would crop some from the top and also from the right to tighten up the composition and this would also make the image slightly larger in the frame. Nice image. |
