Hi Charles: You mention Canon 65mm macro lens that will go from 1-5X magnification. Have a friend who has this lens and it is a very difficult lens to use in the field. As you mention a specialized lens for extreme close in work. Cheers, Murphy |

Hi Charles: Thanks for your input regarding my Fuchsia picture. I rarely disagree with comments made by our group #63 on how to improve my image as they are most always correct. However I do disagree with Bev Caine from group #48 in cropping out the buds on the left side of the picture. I loose half of my original picture and the impact disappears along with the nature story that shows the buds. It is easy to add more information to each side of the picture and also more room on the bottom; as this is a hanging basket cannot add room to the top as then the bottom of the container would show. cheers... |

Hi Neal: Good idea to clone out the leaf in the upper right corner, will do. Guess there could be two subjects in the picture, the buds on the left and the flower blooms on the right. I see this image as more of a nature story telling picture with the flower buds on the left and the open Fuchsia flowers on the right, cheers. |

Hi Priscilla: Interesting family with a lot to look at in the picture. Good comments by Neal and Barbara, will add my two cents! Please consider moving the dog to the left a small amount so it does not merge with the blue vase. Your neutral background works well for this grouping. |

Hi Barbara: Really nice work on a subject many would overlook. Excellent lighting, good sharpness through out the grouping of dried leaves. From a composition standpoint I like the placement on a slight diagonal as you have presented. Your background color is very well chosen for this subject. |

Hi Charles: An excellent example of what a macro photographer can accomplish with the focus stacking of 27 images. There is no way possible to obtain the sharpness necessary with 36mm of extension tubes at this magnification. Even at F/22 you would probably have at most 1/8 of an inch depth of field front to back. Your added table surface worked very well. KUDOS on a great job of photography and explaining the steps necessary to obtain the finished picture. |

Hi Alane: The vivid red rose flower is enhanced by the raindrops; the very dark green out of focus background without any distractions supports the flower very well. |

Hi Neal: A very interesting example of creative post processing work to arrive at the finished picture. The image is very well composed, also the vibrant colors really add to the overall impact of the image. Excellent work !! |
