Hi Priscilla: Pleased you enjoyed my "vintage" image. Decided to share that picture just for old times sake as many of us started out in photography with slide film and print film way back when. With proper developing several of the slide films of that era produced pretty good colors, Kodachrome 25 makes the best transfers to digital with Fuji Velvia a very close second. Cheers!! |

Hi Charles: Pleased you liked the rendition of the flowers and the simplicity of the composition and clean background. YES, you are correct regarding the transfer from a 35mm Velvia slide into a digital file not having the clarity that we can achieve today with our best state of the art camera bodies and lenses. Velvia slide film at best was about 10-12 megapixels. Technology has come a long ways since about the mid 1990 era when I made this photo on slide film. Most of us got our first digital camera body sometime in the early 2000 era, mine was all of 6 megapixels. Cheers... |

Hi Priscilla: The most interesting aspect here is you matched the colors of the container with the colors of the flowers and greenery, the colors blend perfectly. The soft window lighting was ideal for this set-up, then the addition of the greenery at the bottom right side of the container helps your composition. Nice! |

Hi Barbara: Your work paid off here with very high impact, good composition with the flowers on a diagonal, very sharp details. As Neal mentions you could lighten the very dark parts of the stems so they have some detail. Like the splash of red colors in the bottom right and also the thin green border adds that final touch. Really good work !! |

Hello Charles: Very nicely done in every aspect: Really nice dark background that supports the subject well, sharp as can be. Like the way you have placed the flower slightly to the right side of the frame. KUDOS. |

Hi Neal: As presented the cricket seems suspended in space. Your 40 stacked images does provide extreme sharpness throughout the body of the subject; then good composition with the subject on a diagonal from the bottom left to the upper right. Subject is evenly lit and exposure is spot on. The border color works well with the cricket |

Hi Alane: Really well done monochrome picture, and as mentioned the raindrops add a lot of interest to the scene. The out of focus dark background supports the flower well. The addition of a thin white border would frame the picture area and would separate it from the black web page background. Just a thought! |
