Hi Alane: Good story telling nature image, these insects are very colorful and you have obtained very good sharpness on the subjects. As is the background is somewhat light and not enough out of focus so is a bit distracting. In my opinion this interesting image would be greatly improved by toning down the green part of the background and even the upper right somewhat. Really good capture on these interesting subjects. |

Hi Priscilla: It is always fun to experiment, sometimes you can come up with a real gem when it is least expected. Do not think this process is very effective on this leaf, however I do like the fine black line you have used as part of your border. |

Hi Barbara: Really sharp details shooting at just 1/100 second handheld, you must have had your vibration reduction turned on. In my opinion the leaves are fine; if you wanted to experiment you could darken them down just a small amount and see what you think. I like the dark background without any distractions. Good Work !! |

Hi Gary: These very high magnification pictures of live insects are extremely hard to do due to the extremely shallow depth of field at this high magnification. You have done about as good as you possibly could without doing a focus stacking process with many frames shot to get the entire bug in focus. Then if the bug moves the least little bit the stacking is off. Kudos for even trying this |

Hi Neil: This apple would not be a good choice to use in an apple pie. This image is a good nature story telling picture, very descriptive. The core of the apple is on a diagonal as well as the worm, so composition is well presented as well as good technical qualities. The border color is very well matched to the colors in the apple. |

Hi Richard: Nice job handholding at 1/125 second and being able to get this image as sharp as it is. With these new digital camera bodies you can boost the ISO much higher than 200 and be able to shoot at a much faster shutter speed, thus better sharpness. Image seems a little under exposed, the picture does not have the high impact I think it should Really good composition with the butterfly on a diagonal, then the green leaves makes a good base. |
