Hi Priscilla: A very well thought out composition with the large flower in the upper right, and then the smaller flower in the lower left area. Your window lighting created very soft delicate lighting which fits this subject very well. I assume the green background to the left is out of focus lawn, it fits the flower colors very well. Good sharpness on the flowers, everything works perfectly here. Agree with Barbara, you could make a nice print from this image. KUDOS |

Hi Richard: Great color harmony and composed well. You have used a wider F stop to create more of a selective focus image; the head and back end are very sharp with the wings going totally out of focus. The well out of focus background supports the subject well without any distractions to draw attention from the main subject. |

Hi Priscilla: Thank you for your positive comments on 'The Mushroom Family'. A great suggestion removing those 3 small mushrooms to make two groups instead of one large group. Had not considered that. |

Hi Barbara: Composition is well thought out and I like the overall warm color tones which make this image inviting. The textured background renders a more formal approach to the rose picture. Sharp detail on the rose flower and also the leaves. |

Hi Neal: From a photography standpoint this is technical excellence, it does not get any better than this. The colors in this picture are amazing, your choice of border color is an exact match to the blueish-purple color on the "bug". Thanks for explaining all of the processes necessary to achieve the letter perfect final result. This picture should do very well in any competition you would choose to enter it in. |

Hi Lou: A good subject with the Milkweed Beetles and the Milkweed seedhead. Picture is well composed with correct exposure with the Milkweed Beetles as the center of interest due to the bright colors. Overall the picture is not sharp and has a lot of digital noise, this is especially evident in the green area in the upper left corner. I also have the 24-70 zoom lens you used for this image and it is a great lens. It will not focus in this close without other attachments. If you have cropped in a lot to enlarge the image then noise usually will become a factor.
Do agree with Neal that shooting handheld at 1/60 sec. is difficult to accomplish, best to use a tripod in this situation. |
