Hi Dan: A good subject with fine sharpness on the bee. The light green background sets a nice mood for this picture. Pat makes a good point in toning down the background in back of the bee; it may be difficult to do without darkening the white flower stamens, but as you say give it a try |

Hi Pat: Cropping the image from the left eliminated background distractions. The curvature of the central part of the sunflower adds some artistic value, a good close in study of the Sunflower with very sharp detail. |

Hi Rosangela: The black and white treatment really makes this image "POP", and the sharpness on the mushroom gills really makes the cap stand out. I like the stem placement at the bottom right corner and the way you have composed the mushroom cap within the frame, very good composition. Your background in the upper left is well handled, nothing distracting back there. Really good work!! |

Hi Priscilla: Very creative !! Really like the way you have composed the flower with the stamens originating from the bottom left on a slight diagonal to the upper right, then the texture lines in the flower petal pick up this same diagonal, very artistic composition. Your soft window lighting fits this flower perfectly. Choice of border treatment is interesting, a bit different than we usually see. Great Work!! |

Hi Pat: I mostly used my basic paintbrush to smooth the background. I borrowed the green from the leaves and started to paint at low opacity, about 25%. In order to paint around the flower petals and leaves I enlarge the image to 300% and use a smaller size brush. I have to admit this process takes time and patience and a lot of practice to do well. |

Hi Dan: Pleased you like the red Lily. The white specs are small rain drops reflecting the light gray sky above. I decided to leave them. |
