Hi Priscilla: Nice feather textures picture. I like all of the ideas of our various members regarding this picture. Some may feel the orange feather at the bottom right is kind of out of place, however I rather like it as it adds another color into the mix. This is all so very subjective !! |

HI Pat: You have handled the lighting very well in highlighting the central part of the flower and allowing the outer parts the the flower be underexposed. To me the variety of colors in the flower add a lot of interest. Composition is very well done as the central part of the flower is biased slightly to the right. Nice image!! |

Hello Khai: A nicely presented flower image. Your time spent working on the background was time well spent, as it is very well diffused and supports the subject well. The small brown area in the center does not bother me, it is simply part of the flower. Lisa's darkened background is very well done with a lot of impact, another way to present this flower. |

Hi Lisa: Like you I really like to photograph old machinery; the real challenge is to find something with vivid colors along with good composition. Much of the time there is too much rust color on these subjects and no accent colors to spark impact. Dramatic lighting, strong colors, and the "tooth puller" is positioned in the frame very well. Excellent work!! |

Hi Karen: Lighting is very subdued and I think this aspect adds to the mood of the picture. I would crop some from the bottom to just slightly below the reflection of the head; there is a little too much out of focus area at the bottom part of the image. I like the darkened background at the top of the picture. |

Hi Rosangela: Good seeing eye!! Nicely composed. The drop of sap to me becomes the center of interest as your eye tends to focus on it. The area of the trunk where the drop of sap is may be slightly bright, very easy to tone down that area by moving your Hi-Lites slider slightly to the left as it will remove the bright sheen. I like bark pattern images myself and can see why you were attracted to this one. Nice image !! |

Hello Khai: Pleased you liked the "Design in Wood" picture.
The original colors were very flat and bland, they generated no impact or interest. I liked the overall design anyway, so opted to add some colors and make a 'Creative' image instead of leaving it as a 'Traditional' image that lacked impact. This version as presented could be entered into a Creative PSA competition if I was so inclined. Thanks for your comments, they are always interesting. |
