Hi Priscilla: The light greenish yellow background supports the butterfly well. Would like to see the entire flower on the right side of the frame totally in the picture area, the overall presentation would be improved if the flower was not cut off. There is a little confusion in the upper right corner, there seems to be a flower leaf that is not attached to anything. Using f/6.3 did not afford you enough depth of field for this picture as the head of the butterfly is not quite sharp. Using f/11 may have been a better choice. |

Hi Khai: Very sharp detail on the Foxglove stalk from top to bottom, and then the butterfly is also tack sharp. The totally blown out light green background supports the subject very well, also the choice of f/6.3 was just right for this subject. I also like the way the flower stalk has a slight bend, a lot more pleasing from a composition standpoint. The overcast sky created a nice soft mood for this scene. Good Work!! |

Hi Lisa: Certainly a very well done portrait of the head area of the snake, very sharp and nice composition. I prefer the overall lighting on the original to the larger version, it looks more natural to me. The larger version displayed seems to have too much of a sheen on the snake. Also I like the darker background in the original. I think the tongue flicking adds a lot of interest and impact. |

Hi Karen: Like the placement of the statue, you have given the statue room to look into the scene. The warm toned colors are pleasant. The dark back ground line in the middle of the picture in my opinion is a bit distracting; I would do some post processing work and blend together the light area and dark area into more of a smooth transition from light to dark. Does this little guy live on a window sill in your kitchen ?? |

Hi Charles: In my opinion the strong point to this image is the very soft delicate lighting on the dahlia, it fits the situation very well. I can also see just a hint of dark green leaves in the background which is a nice side point. In this particular picture I think the wide white border over powers the dahlia, a quite thin white border would have been ideal. It seem like the large white border somehow takes away from the delicate soft mood of the flower. Just my 2 cents! |
