Hi Priscilla: Very pleasant color harmonies in this picture. I like the composition as you have presented the picture, also flipping the image as Barbara has done is perhaps even better, it is so subjective. Sometimes I use a filter in Element called Poster Edges, it adds a little sharpness and texture. You could experiment with this filter and see what you think; this filter removes a little light, you will need to add a bit of brightness if you try this filter. Nice work !! |

Hi Pat: Very nice soft lighting fits the spring growth very well, also your out of focus background is perfectly done. I would 'tighten up' your composition by cropping the top and right side just slightly. Using f/4.5 will give you more of a soft selective focus look, some of the leaves will not be as sharp as they would be at say f/11, but at f/11 your background would start to get too busy. There is always a trade off in macro photography between depth of field and a pleasant background. |

Hi Lisa: Kind of amazing what one can do in post processing. Quite an interesting change from the original as your subject now has a more circular design instead of the diagonal patterns in the original. Very creative !! |

Hi Karen: The back lighting coming in the window and the use of a very dark background makes this image jump out at you. You have composed this seed head perfectly and that little curved part on the bottom ties it all together. There is a small lighter area at the bottom I would fix; nit pickin I know, but I would darken it. Excellent work !! |

Hi Charles: On this website with our black background a small border really helps to define the picture area if you have a black background in your picture. Your choices in post processing worked very well to arrive at the type of mood you wanted to portray in the old car emblem. Interesting color palette and very sharp details. |

Hi Lisa: Yes, the website is totally confused!! I like the composition flipped very well, better than I presented it. Thanks for the idea. It works very well for the eye to travel up the stem from the bottom left to the bee. Very natural entry point and it works well. |
