63 Mar 17 Comment Hi Priscilla, like the rest this is nice image and arrangement. I like the flow of material the vase is sitting on. It would be interesting to take a macro shot of the flowing material; the turns in the material and the lighting would create an interesting abstract. Mar 26th
63 Mar 17 Comment Hi Pat, your "Porcelain Fungus" is a great image. I like the angle that you chose to photograph the mushroom caps. Your choice of aperture is wonderful and adds to the strength of your image. The lighting of the mushrooms caps is perfect. I like how the larger cap (the one on top) has the light rim around the cap. It's a really nice shot. Mar 26th
63 Mar 17 Comment Murphy, I love this image "Crystal". The colors and leading lines heading toward the upper right quadrant with the rainbow "bullseye" works well in leading my eye through the frame. Thank you for sharing how the image was done. I love the effect and will have to attempt it on rainy day. I also like the texture created by the melted moth flakes. Mar 26th
63 Mar 17 Comment Hi Khai,

I love your image of the "Water Lilly". I do agree with Lisa that a polarizer would have helped to reduce the water glare but have found myself in situations where I do not have one with me. It's an excellent shot though. I do like Lisa's low key version; it's another option to consider for processing but I think your image is well as presented.

63 Mar 17 Comment Hi, Lisa. I love your "Orchid Mantis" shot. I like the position of the mantis in front of the spiraling tulip petal. You did an excellent job of composing the model and lighting her. The colors of the finished image along with the texture are very pleasing. I agree with your decision to clone out the back leg; it was a bit distracting in the original image. Your choice of muting the colors in the final image really enhances the image. Nice image. 63 Mar 17 Comment Charles, I love shots of the internal mechanisms of old pocket watches. Your macro image this month reminds me of time spent in one of Mike Moats' workshops photographing an old pocket watch. I'm torn as I agree with Priscilla's comments about rotating the clock winder so that it's at the top left of the frame, but I also agree with Lias that having the writing upside down is a bit distracting. Since the background is very vague I think I would consider either shooting against a totally black background or adding more light to the background to create more interest to contrast the watch against the background.
