6 Aug 25 Comment Hi Jim,
Thanks for sharing this image and information on where it was taken. I like the soft focus on the prickly parts of the plant because it conveys a feather-like texture to me. The color palette is very pleasing to me.

I didn't recognize the plant but the look-up identification on my phone app recognizes it as a type of chaff flower, sometimes seen in Australia.
I also would like to see the flower head lightened a tad to reveal more detail.

Do you possibly recall the appearance of the other purple blooms that are part of the lovely painterly background in this image? Thanks.

6 Aug 25 Comment Hi Melissa,
My eye is drawn to the definition and tonality of the broccoli clusters in this image. For me the contrast between the textures of the broccoli and silky creamy substance adds impact.

I'm curious, are we seeing a cooked egg white, melted cheese, or something else?

6 Aug 25 Comment Hi Ruth!
This is fabulous! The details of the blue dasher are tack sharp and really pop against the painterly background for me.

I'm curious to learn about your impressions of the OM1 Mark II. What would you highlight as a major pro/con? I think your set-up for photographing birds and also close-up photography is ideal. Thanks for sharing!

24 Aug 25 Reply Thanks. This is interesting. I think the f/2.8 aperture worked well with the lens used to isolate the blooms. After processing they really popped for me. Aug 4th

24 Aug 25 Comment Hi John,
Shoot, I think the text I submitted with my image is now shown with yours.

I also like the pleasing contrast of the bright blooms against the dark background. The blooms look so delicate to me. For me, the grouping of five adds to the impact of this image.

24 Aug 25 Comment Hi Bev, I agree with Donald and find the effect of the backlighting on the petals for the large sunflower lovely!

The bee is a nice surprise, but I wish its wings were visible. Perhaps it was moving?

Thanks for sharing this happy sunflower beauty!

24 Aug 25 Comment Hi Donald,
Thanks for the helpful description of your post-processing. I find it interesting that the foliage, now in grey scale, suggests bubbling water to me. The back lighting on the crocus blooms and texture detail are so appealing to me!

If you can would you share the original. I'd be interested in comparing it to the modified version. Thank you.
