Hi Karen,
What a beauty of a lotus bloom among the lush green pads. I find the waviness of the lotus lovely. I agree with you that the top of the bulb should ideally be in sharper focus, but the painterly feel of the image is lovely to me. |

Hi Tom,
To my eye, the DOF and aperature used to register the revised image work well to reveal the lovely textures and delicacy of the rose. Well done!
I agree with the helpful suggestions that Karen has offered.
The rose stem and leaf at camera left and bottom of the frame pull my eye away from the lovely rose. |

Hi Lori,
I find this to be a clever and creative image that creates a pleasing, altered reality for me. I agree observing the sunset refracted by the lens ball, creating the upside-down effect, is wonderful. I also found the sparkles from the raindrops interesting.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for the interesting background information. When I first viewed this image I imagined the two barrels had rolled down the ramp. The 'tears' in the aging stage from the barrel in the foreground were easy to find.
I'm curious about the sources of light in this image and their location. Thanks for any information and for sharing this with the group.

Hi Melissa,
I'm so impressed with the crispness of this shot, tack sharp focus, the play of light that reveals textures, and the dynamic sense that the composition suggests. To my eye, the reflections of the pearls in the opera glasses further enhance the image and its impact for me. Thank you for sharing! |

Hi Bev,
The combination of pink and green is so pleasing to me. The reflection of the bloom at camera left is tack sharp and the bokeh effects in the background after post-processing convey a painterly feel to me.
I'm seeing some interesting back lighting in the two taller blooms but wish more texture could be seen in the bloom at camera left.

Hi Donald,
I find the composition effective with the bright yellow flowers centered in the frame and the lines of the rocks leading my eye to the blooms. The color palette with shades of yellow, orange, and earth tones reinforces a sense of harmony for me. |

Hi Frank,
Ah! I'm enchanted by this beautiful image. The mist coveys wonderful softness to me and the blended vignetting draws me into the bloom. Thanks for sharing this one! |
