6 Jul 24 Comment Hi Melissa,
I agree, this is a great find! To my eye, the details are beautifully captured and the black background adds a sense of drama.

Although capturing the Owl Butterfly larva on a green leaf or twig might be more realistic, observing it on your finger conveys an affectionate, personal tone that I find pleasing. Thanks for sharing this interesting and fun shot!

6 Jul 24 Comment Hi Lori, Welcome to the group!

I think you've captured beautiful color in this shot and the focus on the butterfly eye is well done.

I agree with Ruth's suggestion to explore lightening the butterfly.

6 Jul 24 Comment Hi Ruth,

This image captures my attention. To me, the contrasts and flower details are beautifully captured. The creative cropping appeals to me because the arrangement of the different groups of bird-eye gilia throughout the composition suggest a sense of rhythm to me.

24 Jul 24 Comment Hi Yvonne,
I agree, the potted cyclamen is beautiful and the elements in your composition add interesting context for me.

I think the suggestions about more space around the flower and pot would further enhance this image.

24 Jul 24 Comment Hi Fred,
I am drawn to the textures and play of colors in this image. The center details of the flower are in sharp focus. I appreciate the idea of a sharp, even focus throughout the image, however the softness in the upper part of the bloom does not detract from the beauty of this image for me.

24 Jul 24 Comment Bev,

I agree thisis a lovely image and the painterly background appeals to me. Frank's tighter crop highlights the flower for me. To my eye, the two branches add interest and reinforce the elegance of the bloom.
