Hi, Melissa! Welcome to the group.
I think your idea of focusing on the details of a single berry and shooting it as a close-up are excellent. The tack-sharp detail of the segments of the berry are fascinating and almost surrealist to me. I agree, it is a challenge to photograph a wet subject on a wet surface.
I look forward to admiring your images whether captured with a cell phone or camera!

Hi Jim, The veining and textures are beautifully revealed for me, and I enjoy the tack sharp focus on the subject against the painterly, soft bokeh in the background.
I agree about darkening the pot's rim. I wish more of the lower bud were visible, because I expect it would further enhance the composition. |

To my eye, this is beautifully captured and positioned in the frame. The center focus appears crisp, and I enjoy the rich jewel tones of the petals.
The small hints at foliage in upper left, and perhaps lower left are a bit distracting to me. |

Ah, this image evokes a sentimental longing of the past for me! To my eye this is a great shot, and I agree would be enhanced by a slight crop at camera left.
I'm thinking that this shot may not fit our group's 'close-up' theme. |

The softness of this image appeals to me and conveys a dreamy vibe. The pink hues appear to be beautifully captured and add to the artistic feel of this image.
I wish I could see a bit more of the center of the dahlia, but enjoy admiring the definition in the flow of the petals parallel to the lens. |

I'm another fan of the iris and this one is a beauty! For me, the backlighting adds much interest and highlights a sense of dimensionality for the subject.
I agree toning down the brightness and vibrancy are pleasing. Beautiful capture! |

Wow! The positioning of the two daffodils facing different directions and the selective use of depth-of-field capture my attention. I also find Frank's crop pleasing. Thanks for sharing this beauty. |

What fun this must have been! I admire this creative effect and the movement it suggests, almost as if the flower is dancing. |

To my eye, the textured background and hue seem to complement the subject beautifully. I agree that the foreground and background appear well balanced.
The unusual vase draws my attention possibly away from the cluster of lovely flowers, but as a whole is beautiful to me.
