Thanks, Karen. Yes, expanding the canvas would help, I think. |

Hi Karen,
Bird behavior is great fun to observe and I like the pose of the woodpecker on the bird house that is captured. The painterly background is pleasing to me.
The suggestions regarding contrast and consideration of a square crop make good sense to me. |

Hi Tom,
The patterns and details of the lotus leaf are fascinating to me. What an interesting find this is!
I wish is could see the section of the leaf at camera right. Also, I agree with the comments about separating the subject from the background and think the suggestions are good ones. |

Hi, Doris!
To me, the idea of this image is very clever. I understand the grapes to be the main subject, and find their dimensions well defined and arrangement pleasing. I like the rich tone of the grapes and wouldn't lighten them. The grey background provides a subtle contrast to the details of the pitcher, allowing them to be easily identified.
Just an idea.. it might be interesting to see the pitcher against a lighter background so that its outline is faintly discernible, almost dissolving into the background, thus emphasizing the bunch of grapes. This approach is often incorporated into high-key fine art. |

Hi Ruth,
I am so impressed with your capture and think the shot has great impact. The broccoli appears as a miniature tree and does convey your intended theme, "Bigger on the Inside," to me. The details are beautifully revealed and the play of light is pleasing to my eye. Thanks for sharing this one.

Hi Jim,
I am admiring the details of this lovely mourning dove. What a surprising discovery to spot the pair while mowing your lawn! I noticed that in the original the dove in the background is not well defined, however I think the original may be a very interesting and artistic shot! The saturation of the grasses, in the original, looks natural and pleasing to me, as well.
Although the single dove is well positioned in the frame, my eye is pulled toward the swath of blurred grasses at the bottom of the frame. Would you consider removing a bit of the canvas at the bottom? Also, I agree about toning down the vibrant green. |

Hi, Pinaki.
The blooms look like little torches to me! To my eye, the plant is beautifully captured, including the details of its interesting branches. Do you know if the plant is categorized as a semi-succulent? |

Hi Frank, I find this to be a magnificent image and think that highlighting the center details by omitting some of the outer captures is clever. To my eye the gentle, soft background complements the tack sharp details of the Dandelion, beautifully! |

Wow, Fred, this is one stunning day lily, and I've been admiring the many beautiful details and textures that you've captured.
I agree that adding a bit of canvas to the top of the image would enhance it. My eye, however, is momentarily drawn away from the blossom and toward the spot of lavender at the bottom left of the frame. |

I would prefer seeing these beautiful flowers against the original white background with their well defined flower details. To my eye, however, the textured background is interesting and lovely.
I'm curious to learn how you've created the textured backgrounds or perhaps have a source for your collection. Thanks for any information.
