What a great find! The snow is a lovely crisp white and to my eye looks real and the focus on the bird's beak looks tack sharp. Thanks for sharing this sweet image.
I wish the feather details were clearer and there was more negative space at camera right. I agree with Karen about cropping out the tree. |

Hi Ruth,
This image appeals to me and it conveys a sense of narrativeâ⬦waiting for Santa :) A bite of those cookies and sip of milk would hit the spot for meâ⬦so tempting.
I think the idea of a Christmas table cloth is a good one but I didn't recognize that from the image. The lighting arrangement makes sense, but the light seems just a tad harsh to me. |

To me, the lighting, lines of the petal arrangements, and details are strengths in this capture of a Lotus. The discolorations on the outer petals seen along the right of the frame suggest that this is a mature bloom. Its shape makes me think the petals are about to open in response to the growing light. I think these natural, small imperfections are interesting and that the image reveals the true beauty of the Lotus.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful image. |

Hi Karen,
The delicate softness that this image conveys to me is truly soothing! I find the values of the pinks and greens lovely and the image is well placed in the frame.
What a beautiful rose portrait! |

Hi Yvonne,
I've been admiring the details of the sharp, brown spines and clarity of these cactus plants in this image. The color palette is very pleasing to me.
I agree that Frank's tight crop further enhances the image. |

Hi Pinaki,
This developing sunflower captures my attention and I enjoy seeing the lovely details that are captured. The leaf extending up the left seems natural to me. To me, it suggests a growing bloom taking a graceful bow.
The brighter areas at the above and below the leaf at the right draw my eye away from the subject. I see it is almost invisible in Frank's version, which is lovely, too. |

Hi Bev,
What fun to rediscover an image from 34 years ago and work with it in Photoshop!
I think the image has an interesting abstract feel to it.
The colors distracted me from the interesting textures and variations in DoF. I tried processing it in B&W and selectively reduced the brightness and contrast of the upper petals in NiK Silver Effects.
Do you possibly think it works?

Hi Frank,
I have fond memories of an Australian spring and this image conveys a sense of freshness and pure joy to me. The gentle light and sparkling water drops enhance the capture for me. I enjoy studying the many flower details and think the result of stacking looks natural. Thanks for sharing this beauty. |

Hi Frank!
Thank you for your kind words and the helpful suggestion to improve my crop. I appreciate the reminder to pay attention to the balance between the subject and its environment.
