Hi Cokie, Welcome to the group!
To my eye this is a soothing, delicate flower abstract with its dreamy soft focus. The ruffled edge of the daffodil captures my attention and I find it well placed in the composition.
I wish there was just a bit more light bounced back behind the ruffled edge to avoid the shadow which is a tad distracting to me.

Hi Kate,
I agree with you about the fun in discovering pinecone details.
To me the translucency of the resin bubbles are fascinating.
I can imagine the suggestion of a face in center top section and enjoy seeing the sharp outlines of the two bubbles, making me think of a pair of eyes.
Until I read your image title I wasn't clear about what I was seeing, other than an interesting abstract. I wonder if it would be helpful to shoot this with a smaller aperture to provide more detail and include additional context to easily recognize the pinecone.

Hi Doris,
To my eye, this is a very pretty cluster of blooms and the color pallet in this image is pleasing to me. I enjoy seeing the context provided and the lighting and overall softness are soothing to me.
I wish the center of the most visible bloom in this lovely capture was easier to see.

Hi Jim,
This image of a fresh tulip bud makes me smile and I agree it sends a message of spring. I enjoy the seeing the but at this angle because it makes the shot more dynamic for me and I think about the bud growing and the tulip bloom to come. The smooth textures of the bud are revealed to my eye and add further interest.
I wish the background were lighter because being dark it suggests a somber mood to me. Also on our digital display it is difficult to guess the location of the image boarder at the right. My impression is that the stem on the right is from another plant and that placing a boarder there would create a triangle that would be lovely but detract from the subject.

Hi Tom, Welcome to the group!
Thank you for the details you've shared on post-processing, as well as camera specs and set-up. I found this Information helpful to me.
Congrats on this lovely capture!
To my eye the damsel fly is well placed in the frame and its diagonal orientation coveys a sense of impending motion, which enhances the image for me. The profile is clear and the wing details fascinate me. The textures and the tonality of the material upon which the subject is sitting also capture my attention. Is the sunlight coming from camera right?
I understand the body areas of the subject are highly reflective but I wish I could see more detail in these areas that appear almost white. To my thinking the background blur is well done but the dark areas near the the center top of the frame slightly detract my attention from the subject. |

Hi Dick,
I've been admiring this elegant peony capture! The almost S-curve of the stem enhances this image for me and I think focusing on this aspect makes the image dynamic and unique. To my eye the color values are lovely and the slightly softer focus on the bloom reminds me of the delicacy of its petals. I'm seeing what appears to be a slight vignette and that draws me into the frame. The narrow strike finishes this beautifully for me.
I wish there was just a tad more space above the bloom, but this is a minor concern.
