Hi Barbara,
The crispness of this shot, diagonal composition, and rich colors are beautiful to me. The glow of in the center of the lily enhances the image for me. Thank you for sharing this beauty.
I too, wonder what type of post-processing you used. Thank you for any information. |

Hi, James,
What a splendid rose and the freshness suggested by the water drops and makes me think of the heavenly scent of the yellow roses in my mom's garden in the early morning...thank you!

Hi Janet,
I agree this is a sweet sunflower and those small underdeveloped leaves add to the flower's charm for me. The petal details are revealed in your image and I like seeing their contrast against the background of green leaves because they convey the excitement of springtime. I think this is lovely framing!
Brightening the brown center on these subjects is a challenge for me, too. I found Dick's explanation about the reflective quality of the waxy yellow petals helpful.

Hi Lynne,
Welcome and thank you for this fascinating image. I find it very interesting and think about how many times a fallen blossom is overlooked and simply discarded. This image encourages me to appreciate it as something beautiful and interesting! The lighting is very pleasing to me and the result of the focus stacking seems ideal.
I too, like the suggestion of movement conveyed by Dick's modification. |

Hi Georges,
I admire the sense of depth in this creative image because the drops appear suspended to me give the image a three dimensional quality. I am surprised at how many are in tack sharp focus, as I understand the challenge involved.
Thank you for your explanation, too. I don't know if I would have guessed that the drops were supported by the web, but against the darker background the strands of spider web silk are easily discernible. I agree with Janet's ideas about a possible crop to explore. |

I agree that this is a beautiful bearded iris and I admire the gradations in the purple color values that are captured. The soft lighting is flattering and seems to reveal the different textures of the iris petals and components that seem to pop out of the pleasing muted background.
At first I was surprised to see the stalk included but it made me study, remember, and return to the image. I thought maybe this was because of the contrast between the strong sleek stalks vs. the fragile delicate flower petals that are so visually interesting to me. But I've concluded that the bold green stalk adds impact for me because it works to transform a beautiful flower photograph into something unique that conveys a story-telling component. Maybe it represents a dream-like glimpse of a scepter held by a monarch wrapped in royal purple robes...anyone can image and create their own interpretation! |

This creative take on a water lily is very interesting and beautiful to me. I found the color changes in the follow-up image to enhance the harmony of the color palette for me. The textured background reminds me of the satiny feel of the water in a lily pond and conveys a sense of motion.
