What first strikes me is the composition. I like the curving of necks as the birds cooperate on their goal of possibly building a nest. The eyes catch my attention. The foreground is sharp and the colors of bushes compliment the image. You have done a good job with the background as well.
The faces seem a little soft which is the only suggestion I have for processing. I suggest some sharpening. And, in the dark gray area in the upper left corner is a dust spot. Good luck with your competition.

I like both although I think the blue sky adds to the image. The snow's texture shows well. Did straightening cause the slope to be removed? I like the slope of land in the infrared image. |

The light and texture of skin on these giraffes is wonderful. The left giraffe's eye is in shade so not having catch light is understandable. The catch light in the foreground giraffe works well and compensates. For me, the only distraction is the upper left corner tree branches which take me away from this wonderful capture in great light. |

I like the lighting on the back of the flower, the green receptacle, and think this could be an interesting image as well cropping so that the receptacle is the focus .
I suggest cropping some from the top and darkening the background. The background is a bit bright and works against the lovely flower.

Mike, when I look at your image from the web site, it is fine. When I open it, the image is huge. The grackle in the foreground is beautifully sharp with wonderful catch light, strong colors and good detail. The two other grackles are blurred.
What I see in the web site is done well, with interesting color and composition. I cannot tell which image is correct.
