I tried a wider crop however the bee's antennae were above an unfocused flower, and it did not work. |

The background makes this image work beautifully. The dark cool colors of the background are found in the bird along with the warm colors in the bird's body. I like the story told with the branch being carried. The wings are beautiful. I would like to see the bird pop a bit more. You have so many ways of doing this so I won't suggest how. The wings tell a story so I want to see them more. Your crop works, and a portrait crop would also work well. |

Wow, you are learning quite a bit in your class. Your image is lovely and delicate. The lines let my eye travel over the petals. The lines of the petals are rich in color.
I would like to see part of the branch that connects to this specific flower. In my opinion it would let my eye wander from it to the flower. It would seem more natural. Well done.

Well done, and the crop puts the birds in a good spot. The eyes are sharp and threatening, adding drama. The small green branches do not bother me because the drama is very much in the face. Your treatment is good and has brought out the rich colors of the feathers, beaks, and eye. |

I like the action of the bird. You succeeded in what you wanted to accomplish. I like the sharpness of the feathers. So much of a story, for me, is in feathers of a bird. Your crop includes the right amount of story. I do agree with Judith that some of the branches could be removed. I am not sure if the white on the front wing is natural, a blown-out spot, or something you did in processing. I googled it and saw more red and yellow but cannot tell if the white is an underneath color. I looked twice at your image at the eye. It is lower but the white spot above first made me think it is the eye. If you are changing, I'd remove the spot. If you are using PSA guidelines, I'd suggest dodging the bit of white in the eye to draw more attention to it. |

I like what I see, especially in the bird on the right. I am not sure of the size you sent but it is small when I try to open it for a better look. What I especially like is that right bird. It has good eye catch and looks ominous. |
