What is the name of the flower? I so enjoy reading all the steps that you take in your processing. This is done beautifully. Your background steps sound perfect for handling an otherwise messy background.
This will be a lovely print. I am going to try to use your steps for a project. The flowers are glorious in my area of the country. |

What a wonderful backlit tulip. Kudos for your handling of a windy day. Using macro hand held is tough and you have done a grand job of it.
What I especially enjoy about your image is the sharpness of the tulip. The lines take me around and hold my interest. You have managed to capture a dreamy background and background tulip. This is a lovely image.

You have a great image with a great nature story. My eyes dart between the eyes and feathers all of which are clear and sharp. The water drops add more interest to the image. The only thing that would make this better would be to tone down the highlights in the water. They are a bit too bright and pull me away from your great shot of the heron. |

What a beautifully captured and dramatic pose/shot. Everything about your bird is beautiful. The eye captures my attention but I then, look at each crisp part as well.
The log on which it sits is distracting. It has too much white texture that is not as sharp as the bird. The bottom left part is blurred and pulls me away from the heron. In my opinion if you reduced the log to as little as pleases you, the image would be perfect.

I like your composition. The trees lead me to the flowers and grass. I think the ground/grass is a bit too bright and the blossoms could be brought out a bit more. I would bring out the pinks/reds and reduce the bright greens/yellows in the background.I tried using sliders in Bridge to balance the colors and liked the results.

I like your shot and how you handled the water which is calming. The bittern is sharp with a good eye catch. It looks like it is flying with a purpose. For me the color of the feathers is a bit too bright. Perhaps reducing highlights a small amount would make them a bit more interesting/natural.
You have a great shot, even with my suggestion.
