52 Feb 19 Comment I like the suggestions you have all given for the image. I'm not sure which ition I entered after trying many to get the text. My issue is really how can I get the text added. Can each of you who added your idea please go back to see if you can add my name to it using text layers. This is frustrating me because it is the only time this has happened to me. Feb 18th
52 Feb 19 Comment I kept trying to work out the problem with the text that I might have submitted the wrong one. I agree that the white needed to be better exposed. However, I am still trying to learn why I cannot add text. Feb 10th
52 Feb 19 Comment My goodness, I am sorry. I thought the black markings were something you did for artistic purposes because they show so much more vividly. My mistake.

52 Feb 19 Comment I like the idea of what you did, and compliment your skills in taking this shot in those conditions. I like the black specks on each part of the owl except the bottom where it looks like they were added to show the shape of the owl and only for that reason. The specks are on parts of the image that has no body part. Finally I'd like to see a bit more contrast between the owl, land, and sky. Only a small amount but some. This shot has great potential and shows great creativity. Feb 9th
52 Feb 19 Comment Your crop works in that it omits some of the image that is not as sharp, where the rest of the image is. The triangle catches my attention in a fun way. I like the yellow placement because it takes my eye back and forth across the image. I think this crop on the original photo is more to my liking only because I like the sharp feeling of the original. However, that is a personal choice. You have done a lovely job with what you have chosen. Feb 9th
52 Feb 19 Comment This is great. I go to the bear's face and the fish in its mouth. All parts are sharp and interesting. The rapid water has a wonderful coloration and movement. Then when I see the gash in the bear's stomach I get a surprise and wonder what happened and how much pain does the bear feel. This is a well shot and well told nature story. Feb 9th
52 Feb 19 Comment What fun is your hare? I like its position in the image. I can tell it is a raw day weather wise. I would suggest trying to clean up only his face where the snow makes a smudge rather than a flake, perhaps using the clone tool. I also suggest dodging its eye. Otherwise for a raw day that you describe this is a fun shot.
I wrote my response before reading Carol's and your exchange. I like the last painterly process. It tells a nice story, and I think the colors look more true.

52 Feb 19 Comment Carol, what a lovely place to scatter your father's ashes.
I like the dreamy quality of this image. The foreground stones lead me into the image, and the treat is the foggy mist in the background. The water's and mist's colors are soothing.
For me there is too much yellow in your rocks. I copied the original image into Adobe, then raised the shadows. I think the end result is a more natural rock color. I also played with clarity and that gave a bit more texture to the water and mist. This would make a lovely print to help you remember your father.

52 Feb 19 Comment Your image has layers of color and texture. It definitely has a wow factor because when I opened it I said to myself, "Oh my!"
Normally we want the viewer to see the eyes of an animal but in this case mine did not. They went to the feathers because of the color and texture. I want to feel the feathers. Next I viewed the bill which led me to the eyes and head feathers. I do like this image and its layers of soft neutral palette. The background works perfectly with the swan. My one suggestion would be to pull a bit more texture from the white bottom feathers. For me they are a wonderful and strong part of the entire image.

52 Feb 19 Comment It was already set to 8 bit. The control J did not work either. Feb 8th
