I wasn't shooting through glass. I don't use LR; rather PS. I'll try working with it or of the NIK filters to add sharpness to the photo. |

Carol, am I correct that you posted this image in September? I looked back and found that this I what I commented then.
What fun you must have had with these kits. I like the playfulness that you have captured. The image is clear and sharp especially for being hand held. I like the flowers in the scene and the placement of each kit. I do think the background is a bit bright. I tried lowering levels only in the area of the flowers further into the background, and I think it makes the focus stronger on the kits.

Each time I look at your image I am brought to the lovely band of colors that flow around the center of the image. My eye then travels from one good place to another. Your tones are good, your composition is good. Each part of this lovely image is well captured. It was worth the cold and wet that you endured to get it. |

I like you isolated leaf. The background adds to the overall composition. Your simple presentation accomplishes just what you hoped it would. I would crop on the left just where the white light shows through. The stem still leads your eye right up to the leaf. Nice fall image. |

I agree that the hint of green adds to the whole. I very much like the texture of the feathers. Everything about your processing is spot on with good color and texture. The eye is perfect. I would like to see more of the neck but that is a personal choice, and I accept that you had a different thought about the crop. I'd like to know why you chose such a tight crop. |

3 things make me smile about your image. I like the sun shining brightly through the wing of the main egret. The parts of the wing are shown clearly. I like the water being kicked up by the egret. The water droplets are all over and vary in size. Finally, I like the feathers on the back of the second egret. They are fun to see, and add fun to the whole thing. You have a strong composition and use power points well. While I like the different levels of light throughout the egrets, I'd like to see a bit more light on the main egret's face. I tired dodging the face and eyes a bit. It helped; however you might have a different way of doing this. The face is an important part of the composition but is too dark. |

I do see what John is suggesting. And I agree yet suggest only slightly reduce that light. I ask why this light cannot catch your attention first? The light through the trees is one more star of the picture. Then my eye goes to the rest of the image where I notice the calm soothing water flow, the faster waterfalls, the light reflection in the center water near the mid rock. I feel the chill in the air. I like this type of eye flow. I don't know why the star of an image cannot begin in the top.
Each time I've opened this I've noticed a red leaf diagonally left of your initials, and it looks more like litter than a leaf. I'd clone it out.
Your image makes me wonder what the smells and sounds are that accompany the beauty of your image.
