Sharon, this is one of my favorite of any you have captured. I love the nature story, especially the anticipation of the waiting birds. Your details are sharp, the bokeh is perfect. I like the arch of the branch, the detail caught in the birds’ eyes, and the colors of the image.
Well done.

Carol, hummingbirds are hard to capture. You did it well. When they are on feeders cropping becomes a different issue. You need enough space between the beak and the side of the page so you must include more feeder than you want. I think your crop is a good one. The colors of the hummer are true, feathers are sharp, and there is a good catch eye. I did notice a bit of chromatic aberration when I opened the image full scale. My last comment is purely my opinion. Your sky is beautiful and clear. It separates the bird quite well. Still I like a softer sky, a lighter blue which for me gives less competition with the bird. |

John, indeed you did justice to the raptor. I noticed no tether which often cannot be helped in these situations. Details are clear and colors seem true. The owl’s eyes are grand. I think a softer, less saturated background would make the owl stand out from its background a bit more. |

The overcast worked well for you. There is no competition with the heron at all. What I like best of all the good things in this image are the gray feathers. I like how detailed and precisely they are captured. The rest of the image works as well. The eye is on a power point, and all the colors of the feathers take you in a spiraling movement around the image. |

Like you, I like dogwoods and like your dogwood image. I like the subtle background. For me the image is too bright, and I think that if you made simple levels adjustments first to your dogwood then to your background, your dogwood bloom would pop and your background would work well.
I like the green leaf and the additional flower in the top corner. |

Your bird is very well shot. Everything about it is clear, and the colors are grand. I like the subtle bushes at the bottom of the image which add to the story. The only thing that bothers me is the post. For me is a bit too bright. Adjusting the levels on the post and feathering into the yellow/green background would help make the post more natural to me. |
