Thanks so much for the good comments, Ed. I can adjust the position of the boat easily. |

Thank you for the the comment that the sky does not always have to be interesting, Albert. I will adjust the sepia toning, Thank you |

Your futuristic image is very interesting, Ed. I really like the architectural aspect of the narrow street. It definitely reminds me of a film negative so has an unsettling effect on me, the viewer, which perhaps is your intention. |

Colin, You have really caught the fighter's spirit and fierce gaze. The lighting emphasizes the boxer's muscles and tattoo. I feel this is an excellent portrait. I think you must have had very good communication with the model to achieve this. |

Thanks Colin. The sky was pretty boring so I cropped it down, but it does cramp the boat. I will try more space and the use of the gradient tool. |

That is a good point Jack, i.e. to be aware of the conflict between the vignette and the sepia tone. Thanks very much. |

You have really caught his gaze and the wonderful texture of his mane, Adrian. Your focus is spot on inspite of the distance. Namibia is on my list! I am glad you made it there. You remind me of the fragility of the wildlife in Africa.
Thanks for a great image. |

I like the descriptive title of your image, Albert. Your aperture is well chosen to make your image very sharp. I had to look up the tilt shift lens as I have never shot with one. At first I thought the subject was glass, instead being captured in the more demanding early morning. The light cyanotone toning is a very good choice in my opinion. Thank you for evocative image. |

Hi Kirsti,
H Kirsti, Welcome to Group 47. I really liked your image, especially as I have just finished watch Dead Wind, which has many shots of the harbors and the countryside of Finland!
I agree that your first treatment does have a story telling quality, more like street photography, while the second leads me to focus on the boat. The background with the misty trees and clouds is very suggestive and gives me a hint of the area in the distance.
Thanks very much for two good images, both different versions of the your central theme, the boat. |
