Angela, I like feedback that begins, "Wow." I'm glad my composite has given you ideas. That's what Digital Dialogue is all about. |

Your surrealist roots are just on hiatus. When I hid a wall, I look over some of my old composites that never made it to the PSA Digital website and see how I can improve them. It usually starts the juices flowing again and sometimes I even get a better image. |

You certainly chose the right venue in which to place such energetic dancers. I've added my 2 cents worth to the background discussion by muting the colors and putting a spotlight on the waitresses. This creates a bit of magic as the women's shadows come from a light that emanates behind them. Maybe their energy will disguise this bit of illogic. Nice image. |

I wish I'd said that, and this, and that. I never thought that 2 weeks into the month there would be so many comments and visual aids about a work. There's not much I can add that would be instructive. |

A lot has already been said about your image, but I'd like to add that the detail and rich colors of your original are quite appealing to me. The darker colors give more energy to the center of the image, and the girl seems mesmerized and drawn to swirl of energy. The girl is appropriately placed in the frame to be captivated and drawn into the maelstrom. The forest is, indeed, "enchanted" by the energy that is visible in your composite. |

Thank you for taking the time to explain your point of view. I feel your approach mixes reality and fantasy. My point of view in creating the image is pure fantasy. If this were a dream, of course everything would be in focus, and the wizard would not be anchored to a stage. If this were reality, there would be no cards in the air and only a mere mortal would be dressed in the wizard's outfit. In my August composite there are cubes floating in the air, and in my September composite a woman and her doppelgangers walk in and out of disconnected doors. I try to create surrealistic and/or fantasy images. Sometimes it even works. |

Thank you for appreciating what I was after. Every time I came back to look at the "finished" image, I saw an angle or overlap that I felt needed to be adjusted. After making the adjustment(s), and feeling that I actually had a final image, I adjusted more. When I felt that I had adjusted enough, I pushed the windows off the page and serendipitously added the disc on which the wizard stands. Only then did I ask you to switch my "final" images. Thank you for your help. This composite was indeed "a joyful trouble." |

Thank you for your kind words. I did play with the angles and overlap as you suggest. Every time I came back to look at the "finished" image, I saw an angle or overlap that I felt needed to be adjusted. Then I made the adjustment(s). When I finally felt that I did have a final Image, I serendipitously
added the disc. |

Thank you for your description of your cathedral treatment. I'll give it a try.

The treatment of the cathedral is very different from the original. It looks like a treatment I could use on some of my surrealistic composites. Please tell me how you achieved it. When working on composites, my mantra (as I stated in October's "About the Image") is usually "less is more." I think that applies in this case. You have ghosts, birds, a spider, lighted windows, a black cat, tombstones, lightning, and the moon. The cathedral is such a powerful feature of your image, I feel it doesn't require so much support. Steven Jobs said, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." |

You have 3 good original images here. The expression on your son's face seems to be saying, "No, not again." The beach scene is absolutely inviting, and the starry night sky reminds me of how my friends and I lay in the grass in South Carolina summers at night looking at a sky full of stars not spoiled by light pollution. However, the combination of these 3 successful images does not work for me. I took the liberty of removing your son and cropping the result to make the beach scene an welcoming place for a campfire. |
