Thank you for your observations. Perhaps the moon is a bit too bright. That might solve both of your concerns. The mist extends from side to side of the background, but it's hard to see in front of the moon. I'll reduce the brightness of the moon and see what I get. |

My goal in creating a composite like this is to have the viewer, as you say, "feel a sadness and hopelessness in the man with the heavy steps and bent head . . .his long shadow reaching the viewer." For me, it doesn't matter what the story is. The composite's impact on your feelings is not dependent on what the story is. |

Thank you for your comments. Steven Jobs often said "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" even though he did not originate the quote. You can be my agent on securing an album cover. |

You can FEEL the lift in the bird's wings, and you have softened its color beautifully. The sun, the bird, and the skyline balance each other well, creating a soft diagonal. I hate to say this, but, here, less IS more. Terrific work. |

All of the steps you took worked beautifully. The child is in danger from a wonderfully rendered dragon breathing very realistic smoke. The setting suggesting the sun going down and night approaching adds to the danger that the child is in. This is all so well done. I do have one suggestion. Your painting the child gives it a quality that does not match the rest of the scene. Compare her to your wonderful depiction of the dragon. I know we all don't have a folder of pictures that fit every occasion, but, for me, the child isn't quite right here. Very nice work. |

Can trees have ghosts? If so, this is certainly a ghost tree. You were definitely in the right place at the right time to get a picture of this ghost tree. There's also depth into the forest on both side of the tree which adds to the eerie quality of this image. However, the two people in this composite do not work for me. I feel that children placed here would increase the sense of danger and make the ghost tree even more ghostly. Good work. |

I love to take pictures of arches, ancient and otherwise, but I've never had a snake in one, not even in my imagination. You have extracted the snake and placed it in the arch beautifully. The colors work very well together, and the shadow gives the snake depth. I'll certainly think of this image the next time I pause to take a picture of an ancient archway. |

It looks like you have a version of a smart phones that takes the picture for you. Or at least it does in your imagination. Your composition is well constructed because it allows the viewer to see the subject of the picture that your smart phone is composing while seeing the image on your phone at the same time. Nice work. |
