Upon reading your reply, "not cluttered with extraneous images" is another way of saying "less is more." : j |

I'm not sure I totally understand your explanation. I'll have to follow it while I'm in Photoshop. I don't get the Game of Thrones reference, either. I never watched it. However, this is a very successful image. The colors, the blending, the man driving the fish, and the expression on the fish's face work together well to make the image work. I only have 1 question. Did you mean to give the fish udders? |

Haven't we all wanted to tape our kids to a door now and then. Channeling that impulse into a composite is the wise choice. I agree with what has already been said. Look online for how to create a shadow in Photoshop. You'll get millions of suggestions. Shadows would help remove the cut-and-paste look. |

Maria's suggestion worked out very well. You did a good job following her advice. Your image has improved greatly. |

As someone who uses frames/phones with people/things protruding from them in a 3D fashion, I am partial to your effort. I've attached an incomplete composite that illustrates that sometimes "less is more." My waves are simplified, and the man dominates the scene in a 3D manner. Your composite is breathtaking, but you have an awful lot going on. It doesn't matter whether you have a surfer or a bird, they get lost in the waves, and the 3D aspect is reduced. You have a wonderful wave in your image, but as in nature it's difficult to tame. This is certainly worth working on. |

I'm sorry I'm late to the party. There's not much for me to add. The colors and the texture are terrific, and your composite is not cluttered with extraneous images. |

I'm happy that you enjoyed the "happiness of the moment" as Maria said. I wrestled long and hard with the shadows in this composite and should have followed the same wisdom that made me leave them out altogether in June's entry. I frequently stumble over shadows, but I'll keep plugging. Thank you for your comments on those pesky necessities. I kind of agree with you about the heavy-handedness of too many fairies, but how does one favor one child over another? |
