Thank you for replying during your busy time. I agree with Aavo and the stated purpose of the group, but I also felt that a visual explanation of the creative process would be informative. We all go through it in our own way. |

The flamingo's colors are quite vivid and a little other-worldly. The leaves are a little other-worldly adding to the effect of the flamingo. It's not quite a photograph and not quite a painting! Topaz has served you well. |

Original 1 is such a terrific photograph. I frustrate myself trying to photograph such lovely drops of water on plants. There are times when K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) works best. When I saw your wonderful drops and the boat, my first thought was to simply keep Original 1 as is and place the boat inside the drop on top of the leaf. Composite complete! Save the sunbeams for a rainy day. :) |

Every image has potential. Look, first, at the original rainbow. The sky is dark as it usually is when we see rainbows. That might help your composite. The wolf's pose in Original 3 is classic and wonderful! Keep it. It adds a lot. Look at your trees. You have the rainbow going behind trees that are too far away for light to bend in that manner--unless this is a fantasy. If your rainbow is on its own layer, making it darker shouldn't be a problem (in Photoshop). It looks painted. Let Photoshop work its magic. |

I agree with Brad. This is a beautiful blending. I also agree that the black dot must get a visit from Photoshop's Healing Brush. I also agree with Brad that there's nothing to add. Nice image! |

I haven't abandoned the railroad/book idea. It's incubating in the background. I'll certainly include your idea of omitting the scene from the book. |

Aavo, I'm happy you really like my image. The rules you are looking for are on the Group 54 Home Page. Click "About Group 54." The rules do state that we are to use three different originals to create a composite. As my description above suggests, my 3 originals were not leading me to a satisfactory composite. I, therefore, abandoned the image of the book and used the image of a colosseum and 2 images of a cat to complete the composite to my satisfaction. I interpreted the "rules" as "guidelines" because, I feel, the creative process cannot be bound by rules. Ideas incubate with me. I enjoy the tinkering, the looking back at my "Works in Progress" folder to try to bring a fresh perspective to an old idea. I agree, that in order to think outside the box, there must be a box. However, the box only provides a structure and should not constrain where the work of art and the creative process take the artist. |
