Probably my computer and eye but I don't read the fog. For solitude I would look for no tracks which I expect is pretty rare on a California beach. I agree that making it a monochrome and your editing wass a good choice. Have you ever tried a version with less beach and more sky (assuming you can get more layering in the clouds).

Nice image Chuck. I would consider cropping both sides to emphasize the boots. I don't have a problem with the carpeting but was surprised that the stair riser looks like different materials each side (cropping left side may help small section top step). Also darkening of the bottom riser would help removing the four angle lighter strips.

Cindy, very nice. Nice DOF to blur background. You may want to remove a couple of the darker vertical twigs/branches to emphasize the flowers top of image. Kind of a halo. Macro lens? |

I like the conversion. Background darkening well done. |

Paul - I'm seeing the window but not glass breakage? Im also seeing cloud reflections in the top slider but horizontals in lower area. Suggest you play with exposure and contrast? |

Thanks Mary Ann. Good comment. This orangutan family pic taken at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago a couple of years ago. |
