Like it. I'd almost dump the eagle but that's me. You have plenty of them where you are, we don't.
Amazing how intricate rail equipment is. I need to put a visit to a rail museum, or better yet a railroad repair facility on my bucket list. |

Agree with Cindy and Jeff. The rotation was right on. |

Interesting photo. I also like what Cindy did with increasing the contrast. Remember you can have a color version and mono version that is different. Sometimes I'll have the two versions in lightroom. Also, if appropriate to the subject, I'll check the histogram for each version. |

I like the revisions. I wouldn't worry about the flip issue. The shoreline rocks emphasize that leading line naturally. Is the whiteness of the structure the natural rocks? Personally I'd still like the hard horizon line to go away. |

Nautilus shells always have intrigued me with their almost perfect symmetry. I'm thinking a print will probably minimize the impact of some of the imperfections such as on the right side (contrast?). Figure Jeff will have some thoughts on ways you can alter some of the tones. Any thoughts on cropping slightly on left and right to maximize the shell and minimize the black area. This is still a great image and good luck. |

Similar to Cindy's thoughts although I might suggest even more emphasis on the equipment with a small crop on the right side and cropping the sky to really focus on the equipment. Saw one in action once. Very impressive. |

Thing that threw me off was the horizon line being a hard line with almost same tone above and below. Knowing some people don't like inserting skies, not sure the options you may have otherwise (maybe darkening the water)? I also see what you mean on flipping but reaction to that may be limited to locals. What about darkening the subject and beach a little? |

Thanks Cindy. I'll be responding to your image soon. That has always intrigued me. Oh do you know what happened to David Price? Yesterday I searched all the mono groups and didn't see his name (could have missed it). |
