Gordon, normally I do try to blur background slightly using different shooting position panning or other method but this was taken during the Olympic trails and I share my photos with the Pettit. So remembering tips I've gotten from an experienced venue photographer, I wanted to make sure some advertising showed. Feb 10th

59 Feb 18 Comment Thanks for comments and suggestions. Yes Jeff and I were within 5 ft of each other. Olympic Trials restricted locations and we were shooting from bleachers set up for the event. For this shot I do have some "extra" on the original. Feb 17th

59 Feb 18 Comment I'll have to pass on guessing your success in Kotor, these countries are very tough in judging. Depends if you have had luck with surfing there. I would have liked to see another canoe to illustrate competition and maybe paddles in water showing powerful and in sync strokes. Not sure if they have uniforms during races.

59 Feb 18 Comment I'm cautious to guess judging but would recommend "football" country exhibitions where judges understand the challenges of this shot (might check out Interclub PJ but some clubs European). I like the action and the background is muted enough so players stand out. You might want to check if you can crop out the spectator on the right. I like sports pics where the players faces are visible. White socks of runner and tackler's (almost) jersey pull the eye to the action. Feb 10th

59 Feb 18 Comment Agree on focus of the attacker. Like the tension of the action and cropping and attacker expression. More volleyball I see the tougher it looks to find the magic moment.
