I'd suggest you try cropping at the bottom. For me I was distracted by the rough surface from plows. |

I can see why an award. Great combination of sharp detail without being harsh. Congratulations |

Agree with how the mono brings the focus to the skater. |

I agree with cropping behind her. Thinking of our left to right reading pattern, why not flip horizontally to put stop sign in upper right. If you cropped the original at the sign, consider giving some space around the sign.
I agree that this woman is of interest in herself so might want to crop to just her to focus on the patterns in her pants. Trouble with that is the pants vs brick might fight each other. |

Only thing I can suggest is try cropping at bottom so eyes are at the 1/3 point and then check crop location. You may also want to try Nik Silver Effects to give different effect. Agree mono is better than color unless she had a red bandana. |

The added fins on the board caught my eye. Interesting as was the red hair. What's missing from your usual surfer images is the facial expression and the surfer physique (no wet suit). I also agree with the pluses Joe points out. |

I like Joe's comments. You might want to also post the mono on how the skater pops more. |

Two thoughts is whether cropping at the foot of 22 should be be moved to the left if you have the original. Which of course means what about the hand (sorry). Second you might check some images in the history on correcting the lighting color. I like the sharpness of the players up front and blurred background. I also like the hair highlights on the ball handler. Good shot. |

Congratulations. Great shot - eyes focused, expression, at moment of release, sharpness, etc.suggest you try Ollie Fife exhibition. This is a winner in my mind if the judges are sports focused. |
