I like the detail of the Anhinga and the background is well as it separated from the bird to giving dimension to the scene. I do feel that the greens in the bottom portion of this image could be muted a little more as they are bright and eye catching. |

Nice tight crop and I like the upward direction used in taking this image. Good detail on the veins on the petals and I like the slight lavender coloring of the iris. I do find the old dried up leaf/petal a little bit of an eye sore to this image. You may want to try and remove it. |

Nice action shot. The head I felt needed a little more detail as I thought that it was heavily shadowed but upon looking up the American Widgeon found this to be it's natural coloring. This coloring makes it hard to distinguish the eye. I think a tighter crop might work better on this image as there is too little space above the head for the bird to take off. By taking out a lot of the water on the bottom and coming in a little from the right and more on the left (leaving in the major taking off splashes) would help on my opinion. |

Beautiful capture. The catch light in the eye really sets off the bird and helps to add definition to the bird as a whole. I have to agree that the bird does look wet and like it is trying to dry off. The original image has a more colored background above the head and you might consider using that image helping keep a colored background when cropping. I don't think the idea of a tighter crop doesn't work here because of the diagonal of the stick the bird is perched on. I would remove the blade of grass/shrub on the right side as it is a bit distracting. You might also want to try and give the white spot in the center of the birds chest a little more definition. Overall a nice image. |

Wonderful action shot. The eagle landing among the sea gulls headed toward the fish on shore. The eagle's intent and concentration are excellently captured. I do feel that a little more detail in the eagle would help. I played a little. Adjustments - shadows and highlights - shadows 17 - highlights 35 and then went to Levels - options - enhance monochromatic contrast and saved. I do feel that more definition is brought out in the eagle and not changing the rest of the image. Again great capture. |

One of my favorite birds to photograph. Under the described lighting conditions you did a wonderful job in capturing the beautiful mating plumage and colors of the head and neck. I like the drop of water coming off the foot and the colors of the beak, lore and eye which to me make this image. Nice work. |
