Sharon, thanks for the comments. I really did consider your suggestion of a crop. I felt that the sticks from the nest would take over as a major part of the viewing image. See attached. Your thoughts now about the tighter crop. |

This is a good image of the budding branch which is something that we don't get to observe here in South Florida. It appears that the leaf portion of the bud is good and sharp with correct coloring. The depth of field is hard to get precise as there are so many areas and different levels. I am wondering if a manual sharpening of the flower/fruit portions of the bud may help. I also feel you handled the background well. Under the conditions you stated, I believe your camera/lens settings are good. Catching a moving object due to wind is very difficult and with 1/125 sec you managed it pretty well. |

Another great image. Upper level above the wire is sharp and crisp with nice detail in the feathers, head and remains of the lizard. I know this was a long distance shot but in looking at the tail feathers they appear to be a little pixelated and from my editing knowledge don't know what to suggest or if it can even be corrected. The rest of your editing and techniques are good and I'm always learning from your descriptions. |

I like this image as it shows the sparrow puffed out due to the cold and that enhances the detail of the feathers. The only suggestion that I could make is to possibly burn the several white colored branches mid level on the left to create a little separation between the branches and the bird - like the white branches on the rear right side of the bird. |

I like this shot a lot. The three elk making their way through chest high snow showing the challenges of winter. The handling of the snow coloration and that of the sky and clouds setting beyond the hill add to this image. Nice job. |

Nice shot of the perched eagle under not the best of conditions. I feel your processing has brought out more detail on the eagle and don't mind the haziness of the limbs and lower tree as it tends to show adverse weather. My eye would like to see a higher crop from the bottom to eliminate the lower two branches coming out from the right side as they add nothing to the image. Your crop on the top tends to leave the impression of height with the watchful eyes of the eagle looking over it's domain. |

I like this shot a lot because of the difficulty in capturing small flitty birds. There is a lot of great detail in the feathers and the image as a whole. I am also torn with the presentation versus the original. I like the diagonal branch coming out of the corner of the image but the bird looks awkward to me. With the enlargement from the crop and the clarity of the feet wrapped around the limb it looks to me like the bird is trying to do pull-ups. Mike's comment about your signature also needs attention on the light background. |

Thanks for the comments. This is the nest by the amphitheater road opposite the new camping area. Always plan trips to Flamingo somewhere in the middle two weeks of March when Osprey chicks are at their peak. |
