You made a good choice in the monochrome. I can feel the power of the surf. My only nit pic and I'm not sure anything can be done is half way up about 1/3 of the way in on the left side there appears to be a ghost like bubble. First thing that caught my eye and feel it is distracting. I also agree with Sharon and her words of a bit more ZING. |

Judith - I love the pose of the red shoulder hawk and it's majestic look. I think Mike is right on with the camera focal point as the eye appears soft to me. The Program Topaz Gigapixel can help a little with that. I ran the Gigapixel - added some structure to the eye - then went to levels to add a little pop. Cropped a bit.

This is a wonderful image. I don't have anything additional to add to the conversation. I do think however, for my taste that the second image labeled RAW does present a nice merge of the blues of the water and the fantastic colors of the trees. |

Great detail in the bee. In my opinion you might have cropped in a little to close causing loss of detail in some of the background flowers and under the wing needs some additional work as the blade of grass(?) is still showing a distracting darker green. I also think by cropping so close you created noise in the upper background. I used Imagenomics to reduce the noise that was created. With all of that said I still love the great detail of the bee. |

Nice capture of a young pied-billed grebe. Love the puffed out feathers and it seems to be calling out to someone or something. I also like the ripple of the flat water as it proceeds around the grebe as it goes forward. I agree with John as to the separation of the beak and background in helping to enhance the front end with the very light background and beak. |
